These dolphins measure between 1.8 - 2 meters and weigh between 80 and 90 kg. They are carnivores and mainly feed on fish and mollusks, which they hunt at night.

Clymene dolphins are pelagic and live at depths ranging from 250 to 5000 meters. They are found in the tropical and subtropical waters of the Atlantic Ocean.

We do not know much about their reproduction, apart from the fact that sexual maturity is reached when the animal measures about 1.8 meters.

Head

Short rostrum separated from the 'melon' by a marked fold, pronounced 'melon'.

Dorsal Fin & Fins

High and slightly falcate dorsal fin.

Coloration

Dorsal side with a dark cape plunging above the eyes and beneath the dorsal fin, light gray flanks, white ventral side, eyes surrounded by black, lips and tip of the rostrum black, dark line on the rostrum almost at the intersection with the 'melon'.
